Library 2.0 is indeed mind-boggling. In the 40 year range that I have been a librarian, there have been many major changes in libraries. I don't want to think of a time when the library will not contain actual books. To serve the public, we need to keep up with technology but not leave significant numbers of our public lost in the shuffle. Our patrons range from far more advanced than us, to people who can't even use the copy machine themselves. We need to serve a broad range of interests and abilities.
One small practical suggestion that I saw on the future of libraies was to have a link from our library web site to "check nearby libraries" Since we have a number of patrons who also visit Trumbull Co. and other libraries, this could be a useful feature.
